OUR CORE BELIEFS

The Church in the Hills has five core beliefs that govern everything that is taught at our church. Basing these core beliefs on the trust we place in the validity of the Scriptures, we believe that . . .

God is the originator of all things. He has a purpose and a design for every created thing, and all that exists is subject to His authority. As the originator, He has a profound, parental love for His creation.

Sin is the voluntary act of rejecting the authority of God. Every person is guilty of sin and every person has fallen short of God’s just expectations. The consequence of sin is hostility with God.

Jesus is the exhaustively-prophesied human manifestation of God sent to rescue humanity from its fallen condition. His sacrificial death has given us peace with God, and His resurrection has given us the hope of reconciliation with God.

The Holy Spirit is the spiritual manifestation of God in the lives of believers to guide them into the righteous life God desires.

Heaven is the dwelling place of God and it has been prepared to receive all who believe in the atoning death of Jesus and in His hope-giving resurrection. It is a place of everlasting worship in response to our Creator and our Redeemer.

Furthermore, the doctrinal beliefs of this church agree with the totality of the Baptist Faith and Message.
