TO ALL WHO MAY ENCOUNTER OUR CHURCH
Have
you ever
wondered
if a 21st century church could capture the dynamics of the 1st century
church?
Have you ever wondered what it was like in the early church? The
simplicity of
their gatherings . . . The intimacy of their times of prayer. What it
would be
like to sit around the Temple Courts of Jerusalem and hear Peter and
John tell
stories of Jesus and His teachings? What it would it be like to be a
part of
the Ephesian church and read every word of a letter from Paul with wide
eyes
and eager hearts? What would it be like to be a part of something
intimate and
profound—something that satisfies that spiritual longing that God has
placed
in your very soul? Our desire at The Church in the Hills is to be that kind of church. We want to teach the message of the Bible with clarity, authenticity, and accuracy. We want people to hear the message of a God who loves them, who has atoned for all their failures, and who desires a relationship with them. We want to foster a sense of community within our church that leads to profound acts of mercy and sacrificial acts of love. We want to be a place of joy and laughter, but also a place of grieving and consolation. We want to be a place where people call out to their God . . . and where He answers with profound grace.
We are not trying to be well-attended or well-liked. We simply desire to be faithful to our calling, and to allow the beauty of the Gospel to draw people into the doors and into our community of believers.
My prayer is that as you read through these pages, something profound will resonate in your spirit. My hope is that you will sense something unique in The Church in the Hills that will excite something in you. My desire is that The Church in the Hills will become a church that worships God and profoundly benefits our three-mile community, and that all who encounter our church and our members will be forever changed because in some way, they will be connected to their God.
